Recently, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Commerce promoted nationwide the main practices of Shandong’s demonstration work on the construction of the traceability system of important products.

It’s reported that Shandong has released the implementation plan on and fund management measures for setting an example of the construction of the traceability system of important products respectively. The two regulations specify the demonstration tasks and performance targets, detail the application and review procedures of projects, and introduce the third-party consulting agencies to provide one-to-one case counseling for contractors.

The province has allocated 80 million yuan as fund to support Jining, Dezhou and Heze to build the demonstration city of traceability system of important products, 60 million yuan for Dezhou, Weihai, Yantai and Linyi to the construction of pilot traceability system of braised chicken, sea cucumbers, apples and juicy peaches and other products with Shandong characteristics, 30 million yuan for the construction of provincial-level unified traceability platform, and 30 million yuan for the construction of exploration centers of time-honored brands, traditional Chinese medicinal materials, chain supermarkets and traceable products, so as to form an information traceability system for the whole process from production to distribution and consumption, and promote the transformation and upgrading of consumption.

Shandong will find ways to open the provincial traceability management platform further, set up management interfaces for related departments, build an interdepartmental sharing plan on trace data, study out a check-up mechanism of the running of traceability system and a contingency plan on the traceability system of important products, and forge a long-acting working system.

At the same time, Shandong plans to step up efforts in publicity and promotion through holding traceable time-honored product exhibitions, setting up traceability exploration centers and conducting relevant forums to improve people’s awareness in product traceability and create a good atmosphere for development.
