    Weihai has 133 enterprises above designated size in the field of carbon fiber and other composite materials. In 2018, the main business revenue of the cluster reached 14.7 billion yuan, up 12.1%. Profit was 2.2 billion yuan, up 74%.

    Focus on high-performance carbon fiber, the research and development and industrialization of carbon fiber products, the research and development of graphene application technology and large-scale production, metal-based and non-metal matrix composite materials R&D, high-performance polyurethane and engineering plastics, etc to make Weihai the largest production base of high-performance carbon fiber and other composite materials in China.

发展重点

There are 4 enterprises with over billion yuan revenue including Guangwei Group, Huanqiu Fishing Tackle, HongAn Group, Lianqiao Group, 41 enterprises with over 100 million revenue including Horan Special Plastic, Wanfeng Magnesium, Anran Nano and Zhongbo Technology etc.

It has a number of national and provincial innovation platforms such as China-EU Membrane Technology Institute, National Engineering Laboratory of carbon fiber preparation and Engineering.

With 2.5 square kilometers planned area in International Port Economic and Technological Development District, The Carbon Fiber Industrial Park will focus on carbon fiber production and R&D institutions and build national carbon fiber technology innovation center and industrial base. The Graphene Industrial Park with 2,000 mu planned area is located in Nanhai Economic Development Zone, will create a graphene industrial cluster on ultra-high purity graphite materials.
